Architecture was the main source of inspiration for the Gateway Dining Set . The mix of sculptural ornaments along with modernist lines comes directly from the School of Fine Arts in Paris, where the Beaux-Arts movement was conceived and disseminated to the world. The angular semicircles and the use of metals were part of the movement and are beautifully represented on the edges of each plate in the collection, with the application of gold details that further brighten the decoration.
The pieces also receive a touch of color, transitioning between light and dark blue tones. The very thin thickness and translucent white are unmistakable characteristics of Strauss porcelain, which brings together ancient techniques for the production of resistant pieces of indisputable beauty.
